Newsprints depict patterns of my breath as I manipulate thinly torn strips of the British Financial Times into “topographical landscapes”. Each raised element, or ridge, represents an inhalation and an exhalation. Selected sheets of the stock market pages are used for visual consistency but there is also a symbolism to be contemplated. I employ a fundamental process that coordinates the rhythm of my breath into the flow of work.
Works are on panels. Medium: newsprint and ink. Dimensions: 18” x 18” and 30” x 30", 2007-2008
