Ink Throw Calligraphy compositions employ expansive gestures in their execution: full body movements coordinated with my breath. The ink is released onto large scrolls of cotton paper propelled by my energy and shaped by gravity... the ink determines it’s own form. I am blindfold during the process, which gives me less control. The work is “phrased” into smaller elements that continue to resonate with the energy of the larger sequence. Works are mounted on panels or framed. Medium: sumi-ink and paper. Dimension from 5-1/2”x 5-1/2” up to 42” x 16’ scrolls, 2014-2015
